Laura spent the first 13 years of her career working in Sales and Marketing with some of the best CPG talent in Canada at Colgate-Palmolive, Coca-Cola and Molson Coors. She was able to experience first hand what a difference the right hire makes when building exceptional teams, and the unexpected impact one wrong hire can make to a team’s morale and productivity. Her fascination with how to identify that right hire and how to develop young talent lead her to recruiting.
Laura found herself lucky once again in her second career when she was invited to join James Kemble to build fishRecruit. For over a decade Laura has worked with smart, driven, ethical partners at fish who take immense pride in their work and have created the best recruitment firm in Toronto.
She has helped some of the most notable CPG companies in Canada build exceptional Sales and Marketing teams and is grateful for the trusting partnerships that have been created over the years.
What’s the best career advice you give to candidates
Tell people where you want to go in your career, ask what you need to do to get there and don’t be afraid to ask for help. No one is going to hand you a career you will love, you need to pursue it.
Favorite thing to do on the weekend?
When not at work you’ll find me at home with my partner and step son, at the cottage with friends and family, running on trails with my dog and traveling to new places as often as I can.
