Miriam’s passion for Retail and delivering superior client experiences began while she worked Retail part-time through university. From there she moved into progressively more senior Store Management, Marketing, Retail Operations and General Management roles with companies such as Indigo, Nike, Best Buy and Roots Canada. Given Miriam’s drive for results and her dedication to creating high-performance teams, recruiting top talent became second nature to her. In 2010 Miriam joined fishRecruit and enjoys using her deep industry knowledge, networking and recruitment skills to help source high-caliber candidates for her clients. In 2014, Miriam was promoted to partner and now leads the Retail practice area.

Miriam has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from York University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business.

What’s the best career advice you give to candidates

The best thing you can do is to have an open mind to listen and explore opportunities. Networking allows you to build your personal brand, and you never know when that next opportunity will be the perfect one for you, so take the time to listen to what the head hunter is sharing with you!

Favorite thing to do on the weekend?

Miriam loves to travel!  Her favourite adventures involve getting lost and finding those hidden gems in a foreign country. Back at home, Miriam loves to run and train, and you can find her hitting the gym or getting ready for a Spartan or Tough Mudder.
